Hello Neighbors!

We are having a neighborhood get together next Sunday, July 14th from 1-5 pm at our home 3202 Hillside Drive – there will be a hosted food truck and the pool will be open to swim.

 

It is hard to believe the last newsletter we sent out for our neighborhood party was pre-covid!  We are the Ceci Aviles/John Ferrell family.  A little about us:

John is from small-town Texas and I (Ceci) hail from San Francisco (yes, born and raised in The City).  Together we have a blended family of 5 children, 3 of whom live at home.  Here is our family update.

​

Ben, 22, is now at Tulane University and interning this Summer at BDO consulting firm in the City.  Alexandra (Alex), 20, is a Junior at the University of Pennsylvania and double majoring in Psychology and Design.  Her internship this summer has been fun, and she has been taking 4 summer school classes and is working on 2 bachelor’s degrees.  Ellie, 15, is at Drew High School in SF.  Ellie loves history and social sciences as well as lacrosse and will soon be taking her drivers permit.

John is an investor and patent attorney at Carr & Ferrell in San Mateo.  John’s law practice is primarily focused on tech startups.  Fun fact is that he started a small, law education YouTube channel for startups a few years ago, and now the channel has nearly a million followers. John’s hobbies include flying (a former weekend flight instructor) and learning to play golf (says he is badly in need of a lost golf ball locator app).

After 11 incredible years at Sutter Health, I left to embark on a new adventure. During the pandemic, my team and I were on the frontlines, pioneering the first respiratory care center and mass vaccination unit in our area. We were even the first to vaccinate the public – and yes, the vaccine unexpectedly landed on my desk! It's a noteworthy story.  Now, I'm gearing up for a dream adventure working with underserved communities. My new role is not public yet, but perhaps we can chat about it at the party.

Again, the neighborhood get together is next Sunday, July 14th from 1-5 pm.  The pool will be open for kids to swim, it’s forecast to be warm – a perfect day for a neighborhood party!  A hosted food truck will also be serving up yumminess.  Bring a bevvie of choice, a towel for the pool and your family!
